My dad recently bought some new Beach Boys cd's, perfect for lazy summer days. We rolled down the windows, turned up the music, and drank in the scenery. There are few things finer on a Sunday afternoon than good company, good music, and a drive in the country. Good company, good music, and a drive in the country with fresh peaches in the back pretty much tops the charts. I ended up with "Surfer Girl" stuck in my head for the rest of the evening, but it was worth it.
On the way home, we had to turn some sharp corners. All the bags of peaches save one fell over and the fruit went rolling around the back of the car. We would have been disappointed if this hadn't happened -- it's almost become a family tradition. Tried to use up the bruised ones in our special dessert -- the first peach pie of the season.
And so the summer comes to an end. University term starts tomorrow and Sirius is moving back to Williamsburg.
