Mystery

So, when I opened this week's vegetable box, this was the first thing to catch my eye:

But what is it? I asked for something else to replace the potatoes, and when they put a replacement item in your box, they don't tell you what it is. I know it's some kind of squash, with the color of a pumpkin and the shape of an onion, but after that, no idea. Anyone want to hazard a guess?
