St. Andrews

Travelled to Scotland last weekend to visit Laurie, a friend from home who's working on her Ph.D. in beautiful St. Andrews. Had a lovely time catching up and deepening our friendship. On Saturday we explored the city and climbed the bell tower of Holy Trinity Church:

Later we visited the castle and the ruined cathedral:

In the afternoon we walked south along the coastal path:

After church on Sunday, we went out to West Sands, the beach north of town where they filmed the opening sequence of Chariots of Fire. It was freezing, but I couldn't resist going for a run.
