I'm in the midst of prepping tonight's lecture: linear programming, dual variables, and shadow prices. There's not enough time to say everything -- how can I condense the material so that it makes sense and is still useful? I studied linear programming for a semester as an undergrad, but here I have to introduce the subject in two weeks.
The sky is gray-white, as it is so often in England. Bill Bryson compares the English winter sky to being inside a giant tupperware container. It's colder here than in England. Maybe Virginia is a tupperware container in a freezer? Snowflakes are drifting past the dining-room window, but they show no signs of sticking.
I guess they're not going to close the university this time. Better get back to my prep...
